About the artist:

Born and raised on Bayou Lafourche in Louisiana, Dolores Hebert Legendre remembers and cherishes in her paintings the sceneries and lifestyles of Cajun life. Her works in oils, watercolors, and pen and ink drawings depict the bayou scenes, plantation homes, sugar mills, shrimp boats, and Creole cottages of today and yesterday.

Dolores considers herself self-taught and feels for each painting as if it were a lesson. Her own technique has been developing since 1973. Awards have been numerous. Her works of art are represented in several local business collections and in nationwide private collections. Some paintings have found homes in Europe.

Demonstrating her technique at local festivals, Dolores has been praised for her detailed way of painting and her natural colors.

She is married and is the mother of six children.
